Letters from our homeland........Wales.
Dear HG,

I too have a few HAVARD ancestors.  However, mine have not lived in
Angelina County Texas, nor have the lived anywhere near Texas.
Regardless, I would like to 'register' my few known HAVARD folks with
you in the hope that maybe someday, someone will connect to them.  Let
me say in advance that I have precious little information about them.

Ann HAVARD was my GG Grandmother on my mother's, father's, father's
side.  She was born about 20 May 1819 and baptized on 29 May in
Brecknock, Breconshire, Wales.  Her parents were William HAVARD and
Mary UNKNOWN.  William was born in about 1792 in Lambramlard,
Breconshire and was a mason in the Clydach Iron Works of the same
county.  Mary was born about 1794 and died 1835.

Ann had three known brothers and one sister.  They were: Thomas, born
about 1822; William, born 1825, died 1829; Evan, born 1827; and Mary,
born 1831.

Ann married Thomas JAMES in Llanely, Breconshire on 11 Feb 1840.  The
couple then produced 9 known children including: Eleanor in 1841,
Thomas in 1842, William in 1845, John in 1847, Mary in 1849, Jane in
1852, all in Wales.

In 1855 the family immigrated to Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA.
The family building continued with the birth of John in 1856,
Elizabeth in 1862 and Sarah in 1864.

The last known record for Ann is the 1880 Census record for South Cass
township, Schuylkill County.  She is 61, head of the household,
widowed. Her children John and Elizabeth are living with her.

Please let me know if this connects with any known HAVARD relatives.
